Maruti India has recently launched a new car Maruti Ertiga in Indian Car Market, the Ertiga also have a Global debut here. The Ertiga is launched in MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) car segment with its 7 seater space capability. Although Maruti has mainly targeted this car for domestic car owners and create an entirely new segment in Indian car market.
Maruti officials called it LUV-Life Utility Vehicle in its Marketing campaign. Ertiga is tagged as great Indian family car and is borrowed its name from Indonesian language in which Ertiga means Three Rows. It has 2-3-2 seating arrangement. With the launch of Ertiga, now Maruti has presence in all car segments.
The car has to compete with Toyota Innova, Mahindra Xylo etc., although they are already Major Player in the market, considering they have larger in size, load carrying space and power. We are not impressed by its storage space in rear side, its is equivalent to some of Hatchback Cars which is not suitable for MPV. The music controls are mounted on steering wheel also. This new MPV car will be priced between Rs 5,89,000 to Rs 8,45,000 (New Delhi ex-showroom price).
The Ertiga will be available in both Petrol and Diesel variants. The Ertiga sometimes gives you a combined feel of Maruti Swift DeZire from front and Maruti Ritz from back side. Maruti Ertiga will be available in LXI, VXI, VXI ABS, ZXI petrol variants and LDI, VDI and ZDI diesel variants. Maruti Ertiga is available in 7 Shades, those are Fire Brick Red , Ecru Beige, Serene Blue, Silky silver, Dusky Brown, Granite Grey and Superior white.
Petrol variant of Ertiga is powered by K series 1.4 litre of petrol engine which belts out 95 Ps of max power and 130 Nm of maximum torque. Ertiga’s Diesel variant is powered by a 1.3 litre DDiS turbo diesel motor producing 90 Ps power @ 4000 rpm and 200Nm torque. The mileage offered by all petrol variants is 16.02 kmpl and by all Diesel variants is 20.77 kmpl.

Maruti Ertiga LXI : The Ertiga LXI is the base petrol model of the car, which is powered by K series 1.4 litre of petrol engine which has 95 Ps of max power and 130 Nm of maximum torque. It is basic variant of the car so it has basic features like power steering, multi trip meters, AC with heater, body color bumpers, manually folding OVRMs (outside rear view mirrors), etc.
Maruti Ertiga VXI : The Ertiga VXI is the mid range model of the car, which is also powered by the same K14B petrol engine with VVT. It will come with more additional features like electrically folding OVRMs, keyless entry, central locking, adjustable headrests, body colored OVRMs, door handles etc.
Maruti Ertiga VXI ABS : This is optional Modified variant of the Ertiga VXI, It has additional features like ABS (Anti Lock Braking system) with EBD and brake assist.
Maruti Ertiga ZXI : This is the top Model of Petrol variant with features like Airbags, alloy wheels, front seat belt with pretensioners and force limiter for driver and co driver, outside temperature guage on information display integrated into meter cluster, steering wheels mounted audio controls, etc.
Maruti Ertiga LDI : This is the base Diesel variant of Ertiga, which has almost same features as we seen in the Ertiga LXI.
Maruti Ertiga VDI : The Ertiga VDI is the mid range diesel variant and has similar features like Maruti Ertiga VXI and also comes with ABS as standard safety feature in the car.
Maruti Ertiga ZDI : It is the top end diesel variant which has all the features offered with the Ertiga ZXI model. It is also the highest priced model among the Ertiga model range.
