Samsung has given us many high end mobiles phones in last 3-4 years, adding one more feather to the crown, Samsung has announced Samsung ATIV S, the first ever smartphone running on yet to be launched Microsoft Windows Phone 8 operating system.

Samsung ATIV S comes in the crazy-thin 8.7 mm brushed aluminum chassis, which is only just a hair thicker to Samsung Galaxy S III’s 8.6mm body. Measuring 137.2 mm x 70.5 mm x 8.7 mm in size, the Samsung ATIV S weighs 135 grams. Samsung ATIV S features big 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display made from Corning Gorilla Glass 2 with 1280×720 pixels HD resolution having 16M colors and 306 ppi pixel density.

Samsung ATIV S specifications are powered by 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Krait processor, 1GB of onboard RAM and storage capacities with two choices 16GB or 32GB with MicroSD slot for expanded storage. MicroSD slot feature missing in Nokia Lumia 920, Nokia’s Windows Phone 8 running smartphone.

Samsung ATIV S features a 8MP autofocus rear camera with 3264×2448 pixels image resolution, GeoTagging, Image Stabilization and LED Flash. The camera is also capable to record 1080p Full HD videos @ 30 fps. ATIV S comes with 1.9 megapixel front-facing camera for video chat. Samsung also announced bunch of new Microsoft Windows 8-powered tablets, first of them is 10.1” ATIV Tab, and other two are 11.6” ATIV Smart PC and ATIV Smart PC Pro.
