Samsung unveiled the successor of its monster smartphone cum tablet Galaxy Note, the Samsung Galaxy Note II N7100 smartphone in Berlin few days ago. First version of Note got mixed reviews due to its large size as a smartphone, some people feels that it is annoying to hold the Galaxy Note with one hand while you talk with someone during a call, because you can’t grip the phone comfortably and half portion of your face is also covered by phone while calling. Apart from these issues, i think Galaxy Note was a good device with decent hardware and re-born of the traditional stylus as S-Pen. Now coming back to the new Note, let’s discuss Samsung Galaxy Note II Specifications and Features in detail.
Galaxy Note II measures 151.1 x 80.5 x 9.4 mm in size and has 180 gm of weight, making it similar to the Nokia Lumia 920, the new Microsoft Windows Phone 8 running device which has 185 g. Samsung Galaxy Note II features 5.5 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen compared to 5.3 inch screen of Note I. The screen has touch sensitive controls with S-Pen support and comes with 1280×720 pixels resolution, 16M colors and 267 ppi pixel density. The screen used the standard RGB matrix instead of PenTile Display, it means it has more subpixels, and you will get more clarity. The screen is made by Corning Gorilla Glass 2, which has scratch resistance and protect your phone screen from damage. The phone itself is little thinner and narrower compare to its predecessor. That’s because the aspect ratio is now 16:9 compared to the original, which was 16:10.
The global version of Samsung Galaxy Note II Specifications is powered by 1.6GHz quad-core ARM cortex A9 processor with Mali-400MP GPU and Exynos 4212 Quad chipset. It comes with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB memory options, and if you still need more memory then it comes with microSD card slot, which can be expanded up to 64 GB. The Note II comes pre-loaded with latest Google Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.
Samsung Galaxy Note II features 8 megapixel camera with 3264×2448 image resolution, autofocus, Geo tagging, LED Flash, touch focus, face and smile detection and image stabilization. With the camera you can get all features we have seen in Galaxy S3 as well as you will get best face feature, where camera will take multiple images of a person and when you tap on a face, it’ll show a series of sequential and successive photos captured of that face for that group shot, and then you can choose the best face you want. It is able to record 1080p Full HD videos @ 30 fps. You will get 1.9 MP front facing camera for video chatting.
The S-Pen has also improved and now comes with a rubberized tip to add a little bit of extra grip. S Pen now helps you to mark up your calendar and write your mails within the email app, When you hover over on the video, it gives you direct preview of what’s going to be playing as seen in Samsung Galaxy III.
