Sony could have discontinued the NEX-3 , however the way forward for those interchangeable E-mount lenses seems downright secure.Sony is all set to launch NXCAM HD NEX-FS100 Super 35mm Full HD professional camcorder for broadcasting and production in April 2011. NXCAM HD NEX-FS100 is an interchangeable lens camcorder with a large Exmor CMOS sensor equivalent in size to Super35mm film like that used in the PMW-F3 to produce the much-desired shallow-focus look associated with top-shelf commercials and feature films. The new sensor in this camera is designed with outstanding exposure latitude and sensitivity to deliver extraordinary HD images subtle in detail and color gradation while avoiding image artifacts typical of HDSLRs.”
The NEX-FS100 does Full HD 1920×1080/60p video at up to 28Mbps and is able to record 1920x1080p images in Slow and Quick motion. It comes with a 3.5-inch XtraFine LCD display with 1920×480 resolution and offers HDMI output.Memory Stick (or an optional 128GB SSD) or output uncompressed 4:2:2 footage over HDMI, monitoring the lot on a swiveling 3.5-inch LCD display. The package doesn’t include the 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 lens pictured above – that’s an extra $700 on top of the price – but Sony will throw in that viewfinder tube and shotgun mic.
